I am so happy to be back with Fancy or Fail Friday’s!!! I will be alternating between here and my You Tube channel which I’m so excited about!
This week I wanted to start off with a BIG FANCY. I’m talking about Maybelline’s newly released Fit Me Blush range and let me tell you I am a big fan. There are ten brand new shades to choose from ranging from your light pink to a sultry dark berry. I have been wearing these little drugstore gems for around three weeks now to really get a feel for them and form my review properly for you.
These pretty little blush’s are $9.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart, but I managed to snag them on sale for $5.99 (score). They have 4.5 grams of product which is a pretty economical in my book. For comparison a Mac blush is $27 for 6 grams of product. So don’t be worried about breaking the bank with this item.
There are ten new shades, that are an extension of the already existing Fit Me Blush’s. They have updated the packaging however which in my eyes is a welcome change. They no longer come with the less than appealing brush the older ones have and the packaging is much sleeker. These are also so much easier to store than their older counterparts.
I have really been loving the Peach & Coral shade as of late since we are in the hot summer months I’m feeling that glowy natural flushed cheek. There is a shade for every season and I know that I will be able to look to this collection for any look or time of year which is great. The formula is great, not too pigmented (which I prefer) and easy to blend. I prefer to apply these with a duo fiber or large powder brush. If you try to use a densely packed brush you can run into a bit of patchyness so I would avoid that if possible.
Now to talk about a few things I don’t like. As much as I have been enjoying these there are some things I’ve noticed that are worth discussing. When you have a pretty blush like these, you want them to last right!? These don’t. Sadly after 4 or 5 hours of wear I keep finding that these just don’t stay on my cheeks. If I want my flushed natural look to last me all day I have to bring the blush with me. Setting spray sadly doesn’t help with the wear time either. I know that for a lot of people the wear time is going to be a huge downfall because if your going to go through the trouble of putting makeup on in the morning you need it to last and don’t have time to be messing around reapplying your blush when at work or doing whatever it is you need these to last for. They are also not water proof so if you sweat or get wet don’t expect these to make it through any water play or super hot sunny days.
Regardless of the short wear time of these blush’s I still find myself reaching for them quite a bit. I really enjoy the natural flush it gives my cheeks. It’s able to give me that gorgeous glow without glorifying texture on my face that I can quite often struggle with when looking for a nice luminous blush. The peach and coral shade are just my absolute go to’s and I recommend them to any of my fair-skinned ladies. I think the range has a good shade selection and there is a color that works for every skin tone so don’t be worried, you will find something you like.
All in all this drugstore blush is a win for me. I have been enjoying it a lot this summer and recommend it to you. It’s a great way to try different shades and experiment in a way that won’t leave your wallet running for the hills.
Thanks for checking out this week’s Fancy or Fail and I hope to see you next week on You Tube!
That being said, May The Force Be With You, Peace!
