Hello! Bonjour! And other ways to say hello! Welcome back to makeupfancy, my name is Jillian and today is Fancy or Fail Friday!! The best day of the week around here!! This week’s product on Fancy or Fail is the new Cream Blush & Highlight sticks from Annabelle Cosmetics. Sorry my Yankee friends … this is a Canadian edition (we have to have some things just for us eh’).
These are a new fall line from the drugstore brand and have 2 highlights in the collection along with 4 blushes. I have both highlights (I mean there highlighters … I needed both of them) and 4 blushes but I only decided to bring 2 home with me … yes I have some self-control. Not a lot, but some. I’m not sure what has come over me lately but I have been all about cream products. Bronzers, highlights, blushes, even eye shadow! If you haven’t already guessed, these are a Fancy. I just have been trying and liking a lot of products lately, but don’t worry, I’m sure I will find some duds soon.
These little sticks are just great. I really have been enjoying them this summer. They make my makeup routine so quick and easy which these days is worth a lot. Two kids don’t always scream hours upon hours of “getting your face on” time. They are also easy on the wallet which is a great thing and I bet your hubby will approve (if you have one that is). They cost $9.95 and have 6.2g of product which is pretty sweet in my books.
I’m going to give you Annabelle’s run down of the product because who says it better than the company that made the product? Then I’ll discuss whether or not I agree with those claims. “Inspired by luxury and elegance, this blendable cheek stick gives you natural-looking flushed cheeks in one swipe. Its waterproof formula ensures long-lasting, sweat-proof wear for those long days at the office or long nights partying.” I’m happy to report that for the most part I agree with everything that Annabelle set out to do with this little product. They are waterproof (It’s summer and I sweat, its fabulous), easy to blend out on the cheeks … when used with a beauty sponge or makeup brush. I’m not big on swiping them on top of foundation because if you aren’t careful they can disturb all your hard work in getting all of that foundation where you wanted it. If you aren’t wearing a base these do swipe on easily straight from the stick no problem.
I think the packaging is super trendy, I’m loving the cute art deco inspired theme they have going on. The packaging is plastic but for the price your paying I think they do a tremendous job with it. The caps don’t fall off during travel like other stick products I’ve used which is great. As for the product itself I think it makes for such a pretty flush to the cheeks, a gorgeous subtle highlight on the high points of the face and if your really feeling frisky the blush shades look amazing on the lips and the highlight shades can make a great highlight to just the center of your smoochers.
The one negative thing I have to say about these is that if you’re a cruelty free makeup lover or vegan these are not a cruelty free product sadly. Other than that, I think they are fabulous. I love that if you are new to makeup they are easy to use, they won’t break the bank and look fabulous on. I have high-end cream blushes and highlights that these guy’s could hold their own against which is so nice in today’s constantly rising makeup prices. As I mentioned above I only bought 2 of the 4 blush shades, the ones I thought looked best on my pale skin tone. Well, the two other shades are much darker which means that this collection will fit a wide variety of skin tones, so don’t be scared that there won’t be a shade for you.
So there you have it my friends. This week’s Fancy or Fail Friday is complete. I highly recommend trying these babies out, they will definitely be top drawer residents in my vanity for this fall.
Until next time, may the force be with you.
Love Always, Jillian xo
