Hello loves! Oh my gosh has it been a hot minute or what? I apologize for the lack of posts on here due to trying to get my You Tube channel off the ground. Yes that’s right! If you didn’t know I decided to start my own channel and have been loving it. If you want to check it out (and subscribe!) click here. Now to master trying to balance that, my blog, two kids & Wyatt. I am excited about where my makeup journey is taking me and even more so that I can take all of you along with me! Now with that out-of-the-way let’s get down to some makeup talk!
Today I’m talking all about Tartes “Holidaze” Bling it on blush palette. I didn’t purchase their blush palette last year and was mad at myself ever since so I didn’t even skip a beat when this was released early to the Sephora VIB Rouge customers (I hit rouge in March this year which is a new record for me).
The packaging is as usual adorable, eye-catching and very “bling tastic”. I’m really digging the cardboard box it comes in with the geometric shapes and the catchy gold, silver and pink packaging. The actual palette itself is covered in tiny little black sequins, which I have to say do fall off and tend to get everywhere but in my eyes a minor offense. It has a magnetic closure which is a must for palettes like this. The inside has a mirror and is a nice gold shade. A for packaging I have to say but I had to subtract a tiny mark for the little sequins that are currently scattered across my bedroom floor.
Lets talk about the actual product. Inside there are 5 Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Wear Blushes. I absolutely love these blushes and do own a few of the full size (luckily none of the ones in this palette). If you ask any makeup junkie the Tarte blushes are a cult favorite and for good reason. They are that perfect pigmentation between looking like a clown and having nothing show up at all. They have a perfect flush when on the skin. They are one of the longest wearing blushes I own. I have never actually tested the 12 hour wear statement but I’m starting to think that would be a good post and or video!
The blushes in the palette are Fetching, Dollface, Prim, Smashing & Beaming. According to Tarte they are 5 fan favorite and brand new shades. I’ll be honest not sure how something brand new can be a fan favorite but I digress. Dollface is available in the full size both on Tarte’s website & at Sephora. The other 4 are limited edition.
I have been using this palette almost daily in my makeup application to get a good feel for the shades and so far I have been nothing but happy. I enjoy all 5 colors and feel I can pull off any makeup look with this palette. Definitely something you can travel with so you have a nice selection of different blushes without having to pack a bunch of different products. I love the design that Tarte puts on all of their blushes. I feel it just adds that little something extra. The quality is amazing and the blushes in the palette work just as well as the full sized versions do. I have found that sometimes companies will use a different formula in holiday sets which aren’t as good as the original but this is not the case with this one.
Let me break the price and worth down for you. The regular full-sized blushes are $34 Canadian and are 5.6 grams. So your paying roughly $6 per gram. The palette is $53 and every blush is 4.5 grams. Your paying around $12 a blush which works out to about $2.50 a gram. So in other words the palette is a much better deal when you break it down. Most holiday sets are great deals like this and if I had any will power I would save up all year and just buy all of my makeup in these sets …. but we all know that I don’t have the will power to not buy makeup for that long. That’s just cruel and unusual punishment.
I really can’t say enough good things about this palette guys. I really do recommend this to everyone. This is a great addition to any collection and works well with so many other products. The quality is there. They are pigmented, buttery soft, pretty to look at, long wearing and easy to use! I also think if you have a makeup junkie on your christmas shopping list this would make a great gift.
Well my beauty’s that brings us to the end of my review! Have any of you picked this palette up? Planning on picking it up? Let me know in the comments below. If you have or are planning to and have an Instagram page tag me in your photos so I can check them out!
